Hello Room 6!

Welcome to the Room 6 blog! we hope you have had a fab first week in Room 6 with Mr Martin. We have had a full on first week with swimming, sports trials and heaps of practices. Recently, we have been practicing songs for the Powhiri and rehearsing drumming and choreographing our sasa. The Powhiri is a Maori way of welcoming year sevens to our school. Both year sevens and eights will perform a song and a haka to welcome them to our school. We have also been practicing our sasa (Samoan slap dance)and the theme is "Fishing at Night". We have two new class counselors that the class voted in. They had to prepare a speech and say why the should be our class counselors. We voted Mitchell as our main class counselor and Danni as our deputy. However Room six is not all fun and games, we have also been working hard, like at maths. We have all been trying to say our one times tables in 10 seconds. Some of us succeeded, even after running away from the teacher!!! We hope you enjoyed your first week in Room 6 and keep on enjoying it!
